Cloth Diapering 101 Rinsing

I have read alot of question about is there a need to rinse cloth diapers before washing.

If you have a newborn that is strickly breastfed, there is no need to rinse poop or pee out of the diapers. It will wash out in the washing machine.  You just have to run them on a cold rinse cycle before you wash them.

Once your baby starts eating solid foods or drinking milk you will need to rinse the dirty diapers first before putting them in the washer.  A good suggestion is to buy a sprayer that hooks to your toilet that will spray it all out in the toilet.  It is less mess to worry about.

While you are storing these dirty diapers before washing,  it is best to store them in a dry space.  Some think its good to put them in a water soak, but this is just a breading ground for bacteria.  So I suggest a "wetbag" that is completely washable or something else that is dry storage.

I hope this helps answer some of the questions you may have about rinsing cloth diapers before washing.
